I have looked for clear, easy explanations of Project 2025, but there aren’t many. This is going to be the most comprehensive and straightforward explanation you’ll find.

Background: Project 2025 dates back to 1973, the year the Heritage Foundation, a powerful conservative think tank based in Washington, DC, was founded. They are the writers and architects of Project 2025, aiming to move America towards a more far-right, Christian nationalist state. The Heritage Foundation originally gained prominence when they wrote their first manifesto in 1981, titled "A Mandate for Leadership." About 60% of the 2000 proposals in this manifesto were implemented during the Reagan Administration. Now, they’re back with a new edition known as Project 2025, which is intended to guide the next Republican president.

 This 920-page document, divided into 30 chapters, was written by professors, doctors, scientists, lawyers, and scholars. They have organized Project 2025 into four main pillars:

 1. Policy: The big book.

2. Personnel: They’re creating a large conservative database, like LinkedIn but for Trump loyalists.

3. Training: An online educational system called the Presidential Administration Academy to teach their views and ideology.

4. Playbook: An action plan for implementing their agenda.

 Some alarming items on their wish list for a second Trump term include:

 - Pages 450 to 503: A complete ban on abortions.

- Page 319: The elimination of the Department of Education, stating that any school requiring vaccines or mask mandates will not receive federal funding.

- Page 482: The elimination of the Head Start program.

- Page 675: The elimination of NOAA and the National Weather Service, claiming they drive climate change alarmism, which they see as harmful to US prosperity.

- Page 133: The complete dismantling of the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, and the Department of Justice.

- Page 5: A complete ban on porn, with penalties for production, distribution, and facilitation.

- Page 104: Reversing policies that allow transgender individuals to serve in the military, ending the use of public funds for transgender surgeries or abortion facilitation for service members.

 Additionally, Project 2025 calls for:

 - Ending birthright citizenship.

- Banning African-American and gender studies at all levels of education.

- Ending any DEI programs.

- Eliminating gay marriage and the Affordable Care Act.

- Mass deportation of immigrants, with plans to round up illegal migrants and detain them in camps.

 One of the most troubling plans is to reclassify federal workers under what is known as Schedule F. This would allow the administration to replace merit-based civil servants with political appointees. For instance, a scientist at the FDA could be replaced by someone who would deny clearance to birth control or the abortion pill, effectively making these services illegal without needing to go through the courts or Congress. This plan is detailed in the 920 pages of Project 2025, with a conservative LinkedIn database ready to fill these positions with unqualified loyalists.

In October 2020, Trump attempted to implement Schedule F through an executive order, but Biden repealed it. If Trump wins again, reinstating Schedule F would be one of his first acts. Although Trump has distanced himself from Project 2025, at least 26 authors and contributors to the project served in his administration. His own platform, Agenda 47, echoes the points of Project 2025. The president of the Heritage Foundation has called Project 2025 the "new American Revolution," indicating its significance for a potential second Trump term.
